How to search a city on FindTutor
Open a subject, type a New Zealand town, then open the local list. Why pages only exist where someone actually teaches.
FindTutor is built as subject first, then city. That matches how people search and how Google reads URLs such as piano lessons in Auckland. It also keeps empty cities off the sitemap.
Three steps
- Search a subject on the homepage or open all subjects.
- On the subject page, type a city in the search box. The list shrinks as you type. Press Search to open the best match.
- Read tutor cards, then open a profile. Phone and email stay hidden until you reveal them.
Why your town might be missing
A city appears only when at least one listing is mapped there for that subject. A suburb can have piano teachers and no French teachers. That is expected. Try the parent city (for example Auckland if you live in Albany) or a neighbouring name from the city list.
The 10 km note
If a town has fewer than three people for that subject, the page may include teachers from about 10 km away. That is so smaller centres are not a dead end. Read the distance line on the card before you assume they live on your street.
